Tutor Groups at Calwell

Tutor Groups are responsible for positively priming students for the day. It is a proactive preventative space in which students are supported in being settled and prepared for their learning.

It is a space to allow for daily announcements, positive primers, reinforce expectations, a starting point for well-being check ins and allow for connection between students, Tutor Group teachers and Year Coordinator.

This meaningful connection crafted in Tutor Groups allows for greater connections with peers and teachers along with higher regulation with consistent and predictable routines at the start of the day.

ASPIRE at Calwell

ASPIRE at Calwell is a whole-school approach that supports student wellbeing and strengthens a positive, inclusive school culture. The program is designed to help students feel a strong sense of belonging and connection to their school community, while developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need for future pathways and employment.

ASPIRE is structured around the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) learning materials and is aligned with our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) values. Teaching and learning are underpinned by the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM), ensuring consistent, trauma-informed pedagogical practices that support student engagement and growth.

Through ASPIRE, students develop key personal and social capabilities, including self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, and positive relationship skills, empowering them to thrive both at school and beyond.
