Health and Well-being for Adolescents and Teenagers

Adolescents and teenagers need support in achieving optimum health and well-being. Health and well-being have a great impact on a young person's quality of life and their ability to achieve their goals.

It's Your Move!

A joint initiative of the Australian, State and Territory Governments (under the National Partnership Agreement on Preventive Health), It's Your Move ACT includes a research program designed by Deakin University and the World Health Organisation's Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention, aimed at building the capacity for high school communities to support healthy eating and weight among students and staff.

Calwell High School has focused on mental health and well-being, through improving the standard of nutrition in school meals and increasing dietary education. Calwell's students are warming to the Breakfast Clubs and appreciate the linked health message.

What can you do?

Calwell High School parents, carers and community members can assist the school in our endeavour to create a healthy school population.

Students are encouraged to bring healthy lunches to school, including a water bottle.*

Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of school activities to enhance their physical, mental and emotional well-being.
