On Country Learning


The purpose of the On Country Learning Program is to: build leadership, capacity and connection in our attending students; leadership amongst their peers and our broader community; capacity in decision making, resilience, self-confidence and connection to their country, community, and each other. Students will participate in a range of practical activities at Birrigai, and its surrounds culminating in an overnight walk in Week 10.

AM: High/ low ropes course

Snake Rock

Full Day: Climbing + Abseiling

Gibraltar Peak

Full Day: Days walk to Gibraltar Peak + surrounds. A to B walk

Week 9

Celebration Prep

Full Day: Planning, route finding, gear allocation, logistics

Week 10

Celebration overnight camp

Day 1: Start at Honey Suckle camp ground, walk the AAWT via Booroomba to Bushfolds Flats ,

Day 2: Bushfolds Flats to Namadgi NP visitors centre via Mt Tennent.
