Inclusion - Catering For Every Learner

The Inclusion Team at Calwell High School plays a vital role in ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed. Led by an Executive Teacher and supported by a large team of dedicated Learning Support Assistants, the team works across year levels and subject areas to provide targeted, responsive support. Their shared focus is on removing barriers to learning so that all students can access the curriculum in meaningful and achievable ways.

A key strength of the Inclusion Team is its holistic approach. Support extends beyond academic assistance to include social engagement and emotional regulation, recognising that learning is closely connected to wellbeing. Team members help students build confidence, develop positive relationships, and use strategies that support self-regulation, enabling them to participate more fully in classroom and school life.

Collaboration is at the heart of the team’s work. The Inclusion Team partners closely with classroom teachers, school leaders, and families to ensure adjustments and supports are consistent and effective. By working alongside staff across the school, they help create inclusive learning environments where students feel understood, supported, and empowered to achieve their personal best.
