Who Is The P&C?
The Parents & Citizens association is a diverse group of friendly parents and community members who represent a cross section of members in our Calwell High School. Together with our fabulous Calwell High Deputy & Principal & Staff, we coordinate functions and great projects to help our kids & teachers.
How Does The P&C Operate?
At our meetings, held once per term, we facilitate a positive, relaxed and fun forum to enable discussion and development of ideas with parents and staff. Together we can create an even better school for our children, and through increased communication at our P&C meetings, enable future community relationships to flourish, benefiting all of Calwell High school, cluster primary schools & colleges.
Why Join Your P&C?
Because your ideas, wisdom, perspective and input are important, and without which we cannot offer extra school services, create partnerships or represent concerns and solutions to the Staff, ACT P&C Council, School Board, Government & businesses. Also it increases your school awareness of what is going on.
But What Does It All Mean?
That your kind contribution of just two hours a month can help achieve fabulous outcomes such as our new canteen. IT'S NOT ABOUT FUNDRAISING! The more parents involved, the better communication and understanding we have as parents, allowing all students to add value to their educational experience. The excellent resources such as dance and music that are available to our kids have been made possible by these past community efforts.
What Can I Do?
Please come along and join our P&C committee which equals 12 hours a year to provide your ideas and feedback! If you are unable to participate, PLEASE pay your voluntary contribution, so that we can reduce fundraising and purchase new resources & equipment for all the Calwell High community. Perhaps you have a business or skill that can help in the school too, we would love to hear from you!
What's Happening?
We are hoping to host a fun trivia night in winter this year, to bring the community together for laugh and share fun. The aim of the evening traditionally has been to fund raise for the school to support various initiatives. If you can contribute any prizes, questions or setting up support, we would greatly appreciate your help.
